My wood fired oven was built a few years ago by a bloke I worked with. He retired and decided that in retirement he would build wood fired ovens (he was a bricklayer by trade). Second hand bricks were used in the construction.
It works a treat.
Can cook pizzas, roasts, fish, desserts, & bread !
Shortly after building the oven, Marija and I attended a cooking class at Traditional Brick Ovens at Kent Town , where we learnt the finer points of using the oven. My wife makes her own dough for the pizza. We have found the secret to a good pizza is not complicate things: only use about 4 ingredients. Don't overdo the pizza with too many toppings.
