HARRY ANGEL SPRINT.
The Harry Angel Sprint is an annual 80m contest event, first established in 1999, to commemorate the life of Harry Angel VK4HA who at the time of his becoming a Silent Key was the oldest licensed amateur in Australia. (WIA 2024)
I took part in the 2024 Harry Angel Sprint in the Phone section and I had a late start in the contest. Despite that I managed to achieve 1st place with 55 contacts. In second place was VK2MT with 53 contacts and then VK2KQB with 49 contacts.
CQ WORLD WIDE WPX CONTEST.
Over the weekend I took part in the CQ World Wide WPX Contest.
I had a family/friends Easter lunch on Saturday, so I did not get into the radio shack until late Saturday afternoon.
However, I did manage a total of 853 QSOs with a claimed score of 1,286,662 points.

I initially operated portable in the Bullock Hill Conservation Park at Ashbourne but got wiped out by torrential rain.
I then operated from a sheep shelter in one of the paddocks on my property at Ashbourne.
I made a total of 148 QSOs with a score of 296 points.
I came 1st in the Single Operator, Phone Only, HF Bands Only 6 hour category.
Equipment - Yaesu FT857, 40 watts, and a 20/40/80m linked dipole, inverted vee, supported by a 7 metre telescopic squid pole.

ARRL INTERNATIONAL DX CONTEST.
I entered into the Single Op, All Band Low Power category. I made a total of 218 QSOs with a claimed score of 46,434 points.
I worked 37 of the 48 qualifying mainland USA States, and 3 Canadian provinces.
