STROMBERG-CARLSON.
Stromberg-Carlson was a telecommunications equipment and electronics manufacturing company in the United States. It was formed in 1894 as a partnership by Swedish immigrants Alfred Stromberg and Androv Carlson.
In 1919, Leslie Bean established L.P.R. Bean & Co. The company imported telephone equipment and later radio receivers.
In 1923, he established a factory in Sydney to manufacture telephone equipment, which became so successful that the US parent company of Stromberg-Carlson entered into a partnership with Bean which resulted in the formation of Stromberg-Carlson (Australasia) Pty Ltd.
The company commenced its own manufacture of radio sets.
