KBS WORLD RADIO, SOUTH KOREA.
KBS World Radio (KBS) is the international broadcasting station of South Korea. It is owned by the Korean Broadcasting System.
In August 1953 the Voice of Free Korea commenced broadcasts, in the English language. In 1955 it commenced broadcasts in Japanese, and in 1957 in Korean.
On the 1st day of April 1973, the station's name was changed to Radio Korea.
On the 15th day of August 1994, the station's name changed to Radio Korea International.
And on the 3rd day of March 2005, it changed its name to KBS World Radio.

KBS World Radio transmits on the shortwave bands via a single transmitter at Kimjae, about 270 km south of Seoul. The transmitter site was constructed in 1975, and includes seven transmitters, three of which are 250kW and four are 100kW.
