SOTA certificates are applied for on-line and cost 3.00 GBP per certificate which is sent as a PDF file.

MY ACTIVATOR CERTIFICATES.

My activator certificates issued:

My 100-point certificate is endorsed for QRP as I used my Yaesu FT-817nd at 5 watts or less for each of those activations.

I am currently sitting on 423 Activator points (as of June 2025).  I have quite a long way to go before being awarded my next certificate - 500 points required.

MY SUMMIT TO SUMMIT CERTIFICATES.

Points are awarded to Activators for making contact with other Activators on SOTA peaks.  These contacts are called Summit to Summit (S2S) contacts.

My S2S certificates issued:

  • 500 points
  • 1,000 points

I currently have 1,831 Summit to Summit points (as of 5th February 2022).  I have a long way to get to the next level at 2,500 points.

MY CHASER CERTIFICATES.

I have reached Super Sloth level, and I am currently on 15572 chaser points (as of 5th February 2022). ​

SHACK SLOTH.

The Shack Sloth certificate is issued for reaching 1,000 points in the SOTA Chaser section.

SUPER SLOTH.

The Super Sloth certificate is issued for reaching 10,000 points in the SOTA Chaser section.

​This was achieved on 1st July 2016.

MOUNTAIN EXPLORER CERTIFICATES.

"Bronze Award - confirmed activation of at least one summit in each of 5 Associations.
"Tourist Award - confirmed activation of at least one summit in each of 2 continents 

MOUNTAIN HUNTER CERTIFICATES.

The Mountain Hunter certificate is issued for working at least 2 different summits in each of 5 Associations.

CERTIFICATES FOR UNIQUE SUMMITS AS A CHASER.

The SOTA Chaser Uniques is a count of the number of different summits in an chaser's record.  It is purely the number of distinct summits chased regardless of SOTA points.

My SOTA Chaser Uniques Hunter certificates issued:

  • 100 summits
  • 250 summits
  • 500 summits


I have received the Chaser Uniques 100, 250, and 500.  I have worked a total of 980 unique summits (as of 5th February 2022).

In 2013, as a self initiative, I started issuing certificates for VK5 SOTA activators and chasers, in an attempt to promote SOTA in South Australia and to stimulate some interest in the program.

These certificates are no longer issued.
