Radio Moscow 'Radio Moskva', also known as Radio Moscow World Service, was the official international broadcasting station of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics
In 1993 the station became known as the Voice of Russia at the decree of Russian President Boris Yeltsin, and in 2014 it was renamed Radio Sputnik.
During its heyday, Radio Moscow broadcast internationally in over 70 languages. Radio Moscow's first foreign language broadcast was in the German language on the 29th day of October 1929.
