On the 3rd December 2014 I delivered a presentation on the Summits on the Air (SOTA) program to about 15 members of the Elizabeth Amateur Radio Club.

AHARS BUY AND SELL - NOVEMBER 2014.
SOUTH COAST AMATEUR RADIO CLUB - OCTOBER 2014.
On Thursday 23rd October, 2014 I ventured down to the Seaford Meadows clubrooms of the South Coast Amateur Radio Club (SCARC) and delivered a presentation on the VK5 Parks National and Conservation Parks Award, the World Wide Flora Fauna (WWFF) program, and equipment used for portable operation.
A very keen group of about 20 amateurs attended.
I spoke about the basics of the VK5 Parks award and WWFF program. And I also spoke briefly about various transceivers that can be used for portable operation, portable power sources, and antennas for portable use. I brought along some of my portable gear including the Yaesu FT-817nd, my 44 amp hour power pack, various antennas, bothy bag, etc.

SOUTH EAST RADIO GROUP - 50TH ANNIVERSARY ANNUAL CONVENTION - JUNE 2014.
On Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th June, 2014, the 50th annual South East Radio Group (SERG) Convention was held. This coincided with the Queen’s Birthday weekend, and this year SERG were celebrating a special milestone, their 50th year.
I delivered a short 20 minute presentation on the VK5 Parks award, late on Sunday afternoon to a group of about 80 people.

PR4 AMATEUR RADIO DAY - BELAIR NATIONAL PARK - APRIL 2014.
On Sunday 13th April, 2014, I headed over to the Belair National Park for the PR4Amateur Radio expo. Myself and 5 other trusty volunteers from the Adelaide Hills Amateur Radio Society (AHARS) had organised a small display at the National Park.
SOTA & PARKS SYMPOSIUM - MARCH 2014.
On Sunday 9th March, 2014, a VK5 SOTA & Parks symposium was held at the Guides Hall, Hannaford Road, Blackwood. This is the location of the Adelaide Hills Amateur Radio Society shack.
The purpose of the symposium was to allow like minded amateurs to get together for the day, who have an interest in the Summits on the Air program, the VK5 National and Conservation Parks Award, the World Wide Flora and Fauna program, the Keith Roget Parks Award, and portable operation in general.
Doors opened at 8.30 a.m. with the symposium commencing at 9.00 a.m. The day commenced with a welcome by the President of the Adelaide Hills Amateur Radio Society. This was followed by 4 guest speakers who spoke about SOTA’s progress in VK, tips for activators & hunters of the VK5 Parks Award, an overview of the World Wide Flora & Fauna program, and using lithium phosphate chemistry batteries.
Morning tea was then taken and this was followed by a further 5 presentations by guest speakers, on topics including home brew antennas, SOTA for the beginner, the parksnpeaks spotting site, prominence as related to SOTA, and a comparison between some portable HF equipment.
This was followed by a short round table, general questions session and the closure of the symposium. A BBQ lunch followed.
Around 35 amateurs attended the symposium.

AHARS - FEBRUARY 2014.
In February 2014 I delivered a presentation on the new WIA on-line awards system to a large group of people at the AHARS General meeting.
WHYALLA AMATEUR RADIO CLUB - FEBRUARY 2014.
On Wednesday 26th February 2014 I headed up to Whyalla (about 400 km from home) to deliver a presentation on SOTA, the VK5 Parks Award, & WWFF to the gents from the Whyalla Amateur Radio Club and a few members who had made the journey from Port Augusta.
