After 82 years in business, Ernsmiths closed their doors in 2006.

Scharnberg Strauss were made by National Radio Corporation which was a manufacturing subsidiary of Ernsmiths (Ernest Smith & Co).
The Model 41 (ECH35) was constructed in 1947.
