Airzone commenced manufacturing crystal sets in 1925. The Airzone trademark was registered in July 1926. On the 16th day of February 1927, Airzone Ltd was incorporated. By 1928 they had moved to Camperdown in Sydney and expanded to 750 employees.
Sadly, Airzone Ltd was liquidated in September 1931, and the company was reorganised as a public company, Airzone 1931 Ltd, with 9000 ordinary and 1000 employee shares at £1 each.
Mr. Claude Plowman was the Managing Director
By 1936 the factory floor area was over 3400 square metres.
At different stages in World War II the factory produced instruments for testing radar and electrical communications, assembled grenades and made asdic equipment.
Airzone was taken over vy Electricity Meter and Allied Industries Ltd on the 24th day of June 1946. They had taken over Emmco in 1936 and were manufactures of Philco brand sets.
Following the takeover, Plowman remained as manager of Airzone. By 1948 both Airzone and Philco branded sets were the same.
The end of 1955 saw the end of radio production at which time Airzone branded radios were manufactured by AWA.
