On 7th March 2016 I made contact with Lee M6BHQ on the 20m band. He was portable just outside of York, England, carrying out a demonstration for the British Army.
It was also part of a competition set down to signal squadrons by the commanding officer. A number of squadrons dotted around the UK had all been trying to make long distance HF links.
Lee asked me to send a letter to his Commanding Officer.
I turned out that our contact was the longest distance for the squadron challenge.
