RICHARD MARTIN
Richard Martin was born in 1839 in Strathalbyn, South Australia.
On the 24th day of March 1870, he married Mary Jane Walker at Sandergrove, South Australia.
He died on the 11th day of May 1875, aged 35, while a passenger on the SS Gothenburg.

The SS Gothenburg was travelling from Darwin to Adelaide and was wrecked on the Great Barrier Reef during a cyclone. Between 98 and 112 people aboard lost their lives. Only 22 people survived in three lifeboats.
