LA UNA MARTIN
La Una Merton Scott was born on the 25th day of January 1870, at McHarg Creek, South Australia. She was the sixth of nine children to Richard Marr Scott and Lucy Scott nee Heeps. (ancestry 2016)
On the 26th day of December 1888, she married John Martin at the Wesleyan Church, Strathalbyn, South Australia. Rev. C.H. Wells officiated. (ancestry 2016)

They had one child, Ada May Martin, who was born in August 1890, at Strathalbyn.

La Una was a member of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union, Christian Endeavour, Young Woman's Christian Association, and Mother's Union. She also assisted the local Institute, Agricultural Society, and other organisations. (Artist & Benefactor 2026)
La Una had artistic talent. She won several prizes, three of her watercolours gaining awards in English and colonial exhibitions.
