JEFFREY JEFFRIES
Jeffrey Jeffries was born on the 4th day of December 1821 in Llanelly, Breconshire, Wales. His parents were Henry Jeffreys and Ester Jeffreys nee Morton.

In 1851 he married Ann Leslie McLean in Trinity Church, Adelaide, South Australia. They had six children.
In 1856, Donald Sutherland, a stonemason and builder for several of Strathalbyn's earliest buildings, built the 15-room Belvidere Hotel for Jeffrey.
Jeffrey died on the 7th day of February 1881, at Belvidere, South Australia, aged 59 years.
