FORMER NATIONAL BANK
The former National Bank building is located at 2 Albyn Terrace, Strathalbyn
In May 1867, the National Bank purchased the block of land for the building. The tender for the construction of the building was from Messrs. Osborn and Johns of Adelaide. The architects were Wright, Woods and Hamilton.
The block of land was cleared of aloes, and the foundation stone of the building was laid on the 3rd day of November 1868 by the local manager of the bank. Construction was completed in April 1869. (lester, firth & murton n.d.)

In front of the building is a large Norfolk Island pine tree. It was planted in 1895 by the local stationmaster, Thomas Adams. (lester, firth & murton n.d.)
